Health & Art Workshops

PDFPrintE-mail

Art workshops have been designed to increase awareness of these deadly diseases in Jordan by involving high school-aged youth (14-17 years old) in art-based informational workshops featuring creative activities and discussion.

A large and growing body of research has confirmed a link between learning via the arts and higher academic performance. Arts-based learning also allows for outlets of self-expression that are not accessible through conventional lecture-based training.
Professional educators from the Ministry of Health have visited various schools in different governorates to educate children about AIDS.
They will also promote a hotline that has been set up for people to call to ask advice about the disease.
The workshops are being held in partnership with the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts.
